About God And Science |
About God And Science. How would you describe the relationship between science and God? many kinds of.
About God And Science
Some say that more and more science is revealing new facts which have actually been written in the holy book for a long time. That is the proof of the truth of the holy book, namely the evidence of the existence of God who sent down the holy book.
Some say: It only matches science with religion! If we read the context of the writings that are considered appropriate, it will be seen that the holy books do not intend to discuss the scientific facts in question.
It's just a shameful attempt to come to terms with science, nothing more. After all, why did the holy books not discover these "scientific facts" until they were discovered by scientists? didn't their holy book say it thousands of years ago?
The two opinions above are contradictory, I will not elaborate on the two opinions, I will only invite readers to explore the history that describes the relationship between Science and God.
God Is Science
At the start of his civilization, humans were strange creatures stranded in a world he didn't understand.
Humans have absolutely no technical explanation for what and how the sun can provide light, warmth, and regular appearance. Humans have absolutely no explanation for trees, animals, wind, rain, and stars.
Humans couldn't predict their current fate at all, whether being hunted or even dying from being hunted by wild beasts. Nature is so unpredictable, what will be experienced today as if everything is out of control.
About God And Science |
In ignorance of the world around him, in an inability to ascertain his destiny, man finds God as the answer. Why is the sun shining? Why is it raining? Why are there animals and trees?
Everything has been answered with satisfying answers: All that with the permission and will of God who is almighty (omnipotent creator, all preservation, all-knowing, all-powerful). If humans can't control their destiny, then who?
All of them have been answered with satisfying answers: God determines the fate of all creatures, from bees seeking honey to humans setting out in search of their livelihoods. Ask God for your good fortune today. If science is a human effort to understand everything, then in this era God is science itself.
Science To Understand God
When humans began to discover that there was order in nature, that nature moved according to certain causes and patterns, then humans began to formulate a way of reading nature.
Some people began to specialize in researching and formulating patterns and the workings of nature, this is how science and scientists started. With his understanding of science, humans began to stop being completely helpless in the presence of nature.
By understanding how nature works, humans can adapt to nature and even take advantage of nature to its advantage. Nature is still a mystery to man, there are more things that man does not know than he does.
God's will and permission is still the answer that most satisfies mankind. Science? it is only a tool to be able to understand a part of God's will, only a tool to admire God who is behind all this natural order.
In this era, the desire to understand God makes religion the main driver for all scientific pursuits. Almost all of the great discoveries of science at the beginning of the development of science came from the elite religious figures, namely the scientific - religious figures.
Educational systems, schools and universities around the world, were originally founded and developed for religious purposes. They learn to understand God, to discover how perfectly God rules the universe.
In this era science was used to strengthen religious dogma. When scripture says that God created nature, science works to prove how perfect the laws that govern nature are.
The perfection of the laws of nature is strong evidence of how great God created these natural laws. In this era, science is a tool to understand the greatness of God. Religion is the prime mover of science.
God Needs Science
With the advancement of science, humans began to realize that not only can science explain some natural phenomena, but science must be able to be used to explain all natural phenomena.
If there are still unexplained phenomena, humans believe, it is only a matter of time. One day humans can certainly explain with science. Belief in science even goes to the point where we believe that with the perfect laws of nature, nothing can happen by breaking the laws of nature.
Mystical explanations or miracles are increasingly irrelevant everywhere, only to the superstitious. How about God's intervention? maybe God can intervene in an event, but His intervention is not done by breaking the laws of nature.
For example, if someone fell from the 5th floor of a building, that person must have died. But with God's intervention, that person can be saved. However, God's intervention must be understandable with reason and not violate natural laws.
One would not believe it if suddenly the person who fell suddenly floated and landed softly on the ground because there was an invisible angel helping him land himself.
One would believe that if suddenly a truck with a tub of foam stopped right where the fallen person landed, that person would be safe because they landed on a pile of foam. God helps by getting the trucks to go by at the right time.
It is at this point that science is so strong that religion feels the need for scientific support to be accepted by society. So many religious people try to show that their religion is true because what their religion says can be in line with science.
There are countless religious figures and "hobby" websites quoting all kinds of word-discovering scientists "scientific facts" that agree with this verse and that or this and that dogma.
By placing God and Religion within the framework of science, the religious leaders unconsciously began to strip away the essence of God Almighty. God can no longer do anything that violates the laws of nature and is beyond reason.
Even if forced to intervene, God can only intervene to the extent permitted by natural law, with reason. In this era, science is stronger and more important than God.
Science Ditched God
This is our era. Cosmology says that the origin of the universe can be traced back to its origin in a The Big Bang Theory. Much evidence of the movement of stars, galaxies and universal radiation distribution supports The Big Bang Theory event.
Nuclear Physics says the complexity of the various atoms in the universe started with a simple hydrogen atom. Gravity and the various forces of the universe process Hydrogen in an evolutionary sequence that involves nuclear reactions in stars to develop into various atoms in nature.
This simple matter also evolved over billions of years to form galaxies, stars, planets and everything else in the universe. Biology says that all the complexities of living things on this earth were created through a long process of evolution.
About God And Science |
This biological evolution has the support of archaeological facts, DNA analysis, and even simulations of natural selection that humans can perform to mimic natural evolution. Anthropology, Social Sciences and Culture show that cultural processes can explain the process of forming religions in various world civilizations.
There are no supernatural agents or supernatural realms that can be proven and involved in the formation of these religions. Psychology and Neuroscience show that even God's mystical phenomena can be explained as a result of processes in the brain.
The Science of Quantum Mechanics shows that matter, space, time and the laws of nature as we experience them can arise spontaneously without any intervention from absolute emptiness. The Bigbang that created this universe and its natural laws simply emerged from nothing.
The universe with the natural laws we live in is only one of the millions of possible other universes and other laws of nature that can be created. There may be other universes where the composition of matter and the laws of nature in them did not allow the creation of planets and living things.
The combination of all the latest science shows that all processes in nature can be explained by science alone. Furthermore, Stephen Hawking, one of the world's great scientists said God is not needed in the creation of the universe.
As a result of this recent development, practically the image of the god of ancient religions who actively created the world, with his own hands created man, involved himself through miracles in various events in the world and promised heaven and hell; become irrelevant and displaced by science.
The transfer of God by science can be seen from the results of a survey of God among members of the National Academy of Sciences, an organization of scientists in the United States. The survey results were surprising because 93% of these scientists no longer believe in God.

Some scientists go so far as to claim that God and religion are just the delusions of ancient societies, maintaining that they are merely a disease of human civilization.
Scientists such as Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and many others have even aggressively campaigned for the elimination of religion. In this era, science ditched God.
Do God and Religion End?
If science had abandoned God as the actor controlling the world, would God be forgotten? Will religion end? Wow, you underestimate God's tenacity.
The gods of ancient religions may have been abandoned, but Gods and religions will return in a format that many people probably won't expect.
